It is with deepest sadness and shock that we announce the sudden demise of our beloved colleague and friend, Associate Professor Ngeyi Ruth Kanyongolo, which occurred yesterday, Monday 28th October 2024.
Prof. Kanyongolo served as Founding Trustee on the SASPEN Board of Trustees and Advisory Panel, and in several other capacities, serving with dedication, wisdom and compassion. She contributed significantly to the growth and mission of SASPEN since its inception to the time of her passing. She was also a founding member of the Core Group of Social Security Specialists, which preceded SASPEN.
The SASPEN Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, Advisory Panel, Management and Staff share the grief of the family and send our sincere and deepest condolences to Prof. Edge Kanyongolo, the children and extended family, the Catholic University of Malawi and the legal fraternity of Malawi.
We will miss Prof. Kanyongolo, her immeasurable contribution and the love that she so effectively expressed through thought leadership and action.
Prof. Kanyongolo shall be put to rest on Thursday, 31st October 2024 in Malawi.
MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.
